Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
Short version: we only collect what you send us, we use it to reply and do the work, and we don't sell it. Ever.
Who we are
Datatonia is DATATONIA SUARL, a company registered in Tunisia. When this policy says "we" or "us," that's who you're dealing with, and we're the ones responsible for the information you send. Questions about your data go to hello@datatonia.net.
What we collect
When you use the contact form or email us, we receive the details you choose to share: your name, email address, the type of project, an optional budget and timeline, and your message. The form sends that brief straight to our own server, which we run ourselves. If our server is unreachable, the form falls back to opening your email app so your message still reaches us.
Alongside the brief we store the page that referred you and a one-way hash of your IP address, which we use to stop the form being flooded. We never store the address itself.
What we do with it
- Reply to you and discuss the work.
- Scope, build, and support a project if we go ahead.
- Keep a record of our correspondence while we're working together.
We don't use your details for advertising, and we don't sell or rent them to anyone.
How long we keep it
We hold your message and our correspondence while we're talking, and for a reasonable period after any work wraps up, in case you come back or we need it for our own records. Ask us to delete it sooner and we will, unless we're required to keep something for legal or accounting reasons.
Who sees it
Only the people at Datatonia working on your inquiry. We may use standard service providers for email and hosting, who process data on our behalf and nothing more. If a project requires us to handle data on your systems, that's covered by the agreement and the NDA we sign with you.
Where your data goes
We work from Tunisia with clients around the world, so the details you send may be stored or processed outside your own country. Wherever they are, we keep them to what the work needs and we don't move them anywhere they don't need to be.
Cookies and tracking
This site doesn't set tracking or advertising cookies. It loads a web font from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google to fetch it.
How we count visits
We count page views ourselves, on our own server. There's no Google Analytics, no third-party tracker, and no advertising network involved. Your visit is never shared with anyone.
For each page view we record the page you looked at, where you arrived from, and rough device and browser type. To tell one visitor from another without a cookie, we store a one-way hash of your IP address, browser, and today's date, mixed with a secret. It cannot be reversed back into an IP address, and because the date is part of it, the value changes every day. That means we can see how many people came by, but we cannot follow you from one day to the next or across other sites.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or send it back to you in a portable form. You can also tell us to stop using it. Email hello@datatonia.net and we'll sort it out, usually within a few days.
Confidentiality
Discretion is part of how we work. We treat your idea, your data, and your name as confidential, and we're happy to sign an NDA before you share anything sensitive.
